Gerald, Ayomi, Christian Jarrett was born on December 4, 1943 in Freetown Sierra Leone, West Africa to the Late Mr. Wilfred Jarrett and Mrs. Hannah Jarrett. Gerald departed this life on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Gerald attended the Sierra Leone Grammar in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Fourah Bay College, University of Durham and the University of London where he graduated with a masters of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry. After finishing his studies he returned to Sierra Leone in 1975 and worked in the government laboratory at Connaught Hospital in Freetown as an Analytical chemist. He later on came to Eli Lilly in Indianapolis Indiana in the mid-eighties to update his skills, before returning home once again to contribute to the development of his nation. He returned to the USA in 1989. He taught in the Macaughlin School for several years. In his spare time he wrote short stories and even had a book published.
